Symptoms

After performing an import from 9i to 11g, encountered the following issue:SQL> DROP DATABASE LINK SUPPORT.PRODREP ;drop DATABASE LINK SUPPORT.PRODREP*ERROR at line 1:ORA-02024: database link not found

Cause

Incorrect SQL syntax for dropping a public database linkIn this case, the link was owned by user 'PUBLIC' not the user 'SUPPORT'SQL> SELECT * FROM all_db_links;OWNER   DB_LINK    USERNAME    -----------  -------------    -----------------PUBLIC   PRODREP  SUPPORT     

Solution

Correct the syntax to include the word 'public'DROP PUBLIC DATABASE LINK <name of link>
